Marie-France Bazzo studied sociology, but was always drawn to the media and culture. After starting out with Montreal’s CIBL-FM community radio station, she spent more than 20 years broadcasting on the CBC’s French-language radio network, Radio-Canada. For four years, she co-hosted the unforgettable Plaisirs with Pierre Bourgault, before running her very own shows, including Et quoi encore!, VSD Bonjour and, from 1995 to 2006, Indicatif présent, which won a special place in listeners’ hearts.
On TV, Marie-France was a cultural reporter with the well-known Bande des six. With Télé-Québec, from 2003 to 2008, she masterfully hosted the political debate show, Il va y avoir du sport, for which she twice (2005 and 2007) won the Prix Gémeaux—French-language equivalent of a Gemini Award—as best host of a magazine program.
In Spring 2006, Marie-France founded Les Productions Bazzo Bazzo Inc. and threw herself into Bazzo.tv. In Spring 2008, the public showed its affection and appreciation for this venture with an Artis nomination, in the public affairs program host category.
Marie-France Bazzo is appreciated for her intelligence and curiosity, her way with words and her quick mind. Not to mention that way she has of marrying genres, and switching from very serious topics to much lighter ones.
